Criss-Cross Sessions SPECIAL | Norbert Kelvin

Welcome to The Criss-Cross Sessions, where jazz meets free improv. Act one features a mix of jazz standards interpretations with wild improvisation. Act two is all about collaboration where musicians are invited to bring their musical ideas into an ever changing exchange. Join us at Kulturcafé Max, where tradition and daring creativity cross paths.

Norbert Kelvin has been for 50 years organist of many churches in Australia, the United States, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Ireland. He performs recitals, restores organs and is a regular radio presenter of organ music at 2MBS FM in Australia.
Norbert studied the organ in Sydney with Edwin Robinson, George Faunce-Allman and Norman Johnston, then at Yale University with Charles Krigbaum and Alan Burney, followed by advanced studies with Sophie-Véronique Cauchefer-Choplin in Paris.

As part of the environmental research of the University of Cork (University College Cork) he undertook a research project under the high patronage of the Irish government which consists of inventorying and registering the organs of Ireland.

Currently living in Sydney, Norbert is visiting Vienna to attend a tour of organs in and around Vienna, and spend time with family.
